Day 43 - Monday, February 17th, 2025 – At Sea
We are somewhere between Sydney and Melbourne. The sea has been rocky since we left Sydney yesterday. We rocked and rolled all night long and now being almost 2:00 in the afternoon and it has not let up. Mary and I had trouble with the transfers this morning because the ship was rocking so much. Never fear, we made it. I've completed my bathroom stuff; I came out by my desk, and I have been sitting here since. Mary is up getting her nails done. She went to breakfast, and she brought me back a couple of hash Browns. We're going to dinner at the crown grill tonight, so I plan on eating big. I figure I will not eat anything until then. I've been looking at the menu, but I haven't decided what I want. They're known for their steaks, but I tend not to be a steak person. They have a lot of seafood on the menu so maybe I'll try some of that. I worked on the crossword puzzle. With all this time change stuff, I thought I screwed up my crossword puzzle streak. It looks like I'm good. I'm at 170 some days. I have not done Wordle or Connections yet. I moved a bunch of pictures from my phone to Google Drive so I can put them on the website. I'm going to have to add space to Google Drive because we are running out. All the pictures on the website have used up my 15 gig. Not a bad problem. I played poker stars for a little while. I think I broke even. Again, not a bad problem.
Mary came back from her nail appointment. She did some research on future ports. I worked on the website. We both took micro naps. Before you know it, it was time to get ready to go to dinner. We cleaned up and headed downstairs. We were seated near a window, but not much was going on because it was pretty cool out. We both started with the Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon. This is the fancy Cabernet that we drank at the wine tastings earlier in the trip. It's probably the higher end of what's available by the glass on the ship. Needless to say, it is very good. Even Mary had a glass. Ohh for my appetizer I had a crab cake which was very good. And then had the wedge salad. Mary had two salads for her appetizer. For her entree she got the 11 oz New York strip. It was very good. I had Chilean sea bass and fried prawns. It was on a mushroom base which was good. Overall my dinner was very nice. Mary was happy with her steak. We both had baked potato. It still was not a full potato, believe it or not. Put together we had one potato, I think. That's OK. We didn't need the extra calories at that point. I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc with my fish. For dessert I had a triple chocolate thing. It included cookies, chocolate mousse and chocolate cake. It was a lot of chocolate, all of it good. Mary had an apple cobbler thing. It was good because she ate it all. Mine was good because I ate it all.
As we finished dinner, a single guitar player did a 45 minute show. He was OK. Very mellow, too mellow. Then the jazz band started. Apparently, these are the Princess players so we will see them elsewhere. They could a good job for the half hour we listened to them. We had to come upstairs because tomorrow's an early day. I've said this before, but it was another successful day.
