At Sea
As I write this, it is finally calming down. It started yesterday evening. It's been the worst rocking that we've experienced on this trip. When I went to bed last night a little after midnight it took me about 10 minutes to go 10 feet. I was at my desk and I needed to go back by the bed to wake Mary up. I was afraid of flipping over so I went very slowly. All night long it was like that. There were a couple of times I was lying in bed and the bed actually bounced me up a few inches. Beyond the actual bouncing, is the creaking. It is constant and from all over. The captain said that it would be better by 3:00. That's in about two hours so it should be fine then. I guess that's all part of the experience.
Mary went to get breakfast this morning. I didn't want to go out in the hallways with it rocking like this. Stayed back. She brought me a couple English muffins back. I played a little poker stars this morning. I broke even. Last night I made 13 million.
I worked on the log most of the afternoon. As you can see, I got 3 or 4 days out. I just need to concentrate and get it done. I thought I left my friend Mr. Procrastination at home, but guess what? He's along for the trip. I am procrastinating by writing this paragraph, because I do not remember what I had for dinner that night. You have to realize that I am writing what we did on Saturday on Monday. What's worse is we had a very busy Sydney trip so that is on my mind. Maybe that will work on that and ask Mary what I had for dinner this night. More to come . . .
Mary just came back from one of her appointments and I asked her. She reminded me that I had something called salmon cake which was salmon and puff pastry with a egg on top. I remember it being pretty good. Then I had a fish soup. I remember this being very good too. There's something about fish and soup that I like. For my main meal I had red snapper. I don't remember the base, but i think it had white beans. Then for dessert I had cherry sorbet. Separately I ordered a glass of pork. Not a port connoisseur, but this was not the best port I've ever had. Maybe I will look for other brands. Mary had her salad. She then had prime rib with a baked potato. The prime rib wasn't too bad. She was disappointed at the baked potato. She had visions of a real potato, but what she got was the real potato's little brother. It was maybe 25% of what I would consider a baked potato. We will have to get a real potato at the crown grill.
As we made our way out of dinner, we ran into Karen and Lori. They were going to the explorer's lounge to listen to a game show. I asked them to save us a spot, which they did. We made our way up there and sat with them for an hour while some silly game show went on. As I write this, I honestly don't remember what the show was about. Ohh yeah, it had something to do with songs and music. You had to guess the title of the song or the artist. You would think I would be pretty good at this, but for whatever reason I only got a few of them right. Anyway, we finished with that and came upstairs. It was the end of another successful day.
