Day 32 – Thursday, February 6, 2025 – At Sea
I slept lousy. I'm out of sync again. Sleep during the day and night at night. I have to work on this. We got up normal time. We went to seven for breakfast. For whatever reason, Sabatini’s was freezing. Even with my vest on, I was cold. We made our way through our typical breakfast. We came back upstairs, and I slept for an hour. I felt a little better.
At 1:00 I decided to go down and push on seven. It was really rocking. Plus, it was windy out there. This made pushing difficult, but I did the best I could. I was able to get 3 loops instead of my normal 5 loops. Because you cannot go completely around, I stay on one side of the ship and go from one end to where you have to stop. I would guess that each loop is about 1000 feet. While I was all pushing, Mary went up to the spa. She wanted to try the steam room so she did. You started with some type of shower to defoliate. She then did 15 minutes in the stream. And then she sat on hot rock chair or some sort for 15 minutes. She says it felt good. She would do it again.
We came upstairs for an hour before getting ready to go to dinner.
For dinner we both had big salads. I had a penny pasta dish and for something different I had beef pot roast. For me it was a very good meal. They don't eat beef very often, but this was very good. Mary had a different pasta dish for her main meal. For dessert I had, I don't know what you would call it, when I read the description, I thought it would be kind of like a heath bar. It wasn't anything like a health bar. At the end of the day, it was OK. Mary had her vegan ice cream. Between courses we talked to the sommelier, Maya from Serbia. We wanted to know what she thought was the best wine to look for in New Zealand. She said the whites were good. She said New Zealand is known for their Sauvignon Blanc’s. She did not have a specific winery to look at period it didn't sound like she had a lot of knowledge about New Zealand wine. Not a big deal. She tried to be helpful.
Of course we stopped for pictures. We talked about going to the show to see an instrumentalist do Broadway tunes. Definitely not my speed, but if Mary wanted to go, I would have gone. She decided she did not want to go.
I will have to go and look at the pre cruise notes, but I went through several gyrations to get the visa for New Zealand. And I got them, or so I thought. A few ago, we were asked for a reference number for our visas. We put them on the sheet assuming they were right. So, when we got back, GeDe, our cabin steward, and then there's the sheet that said our numbers were wrong. Mary called the front desk and got more information. She got on her phone browser and was able to get the correct declaration numbers. I don't know what I did wrong, but I need to find out. Because I paid the visas I got. I hope Mary doesn't have problems tomorrow. Because it's a tender stop, I can't get off. She will take an excursion on her own.
Because the following day started early, we were in bed early.
