Day 29 - Monday, February 3, 2025 – At Sea
We both slept pretty well. Must have the been the alcohol. Nonetheless, Mary was up by 7 and I was up by 9. We decided we were not going to go to the 7th floor for breakfast. We decided we were going to go up to 14 in the horizon court. It was crazy busy period I had a cup of coffee, and two hash browns. Mary had fruit and a couple of croissants. We set up there for more than an hour. We worked on the puzzles and discussed what we wanted to get done for the day. We then came back to the room. I did some banking. I worked on the crossword puzzle. I did a little work on the log. I attempted to get a micro nap in, but I must have too much caffeine on board. Mary had an acupuncture appointment so I went down and pushed on seven. We met up again about 90 minutes later period I had my, maybe, 3000 pushes in. From there we decided to go up to an outdoor restaurant called the salty dog. It's up on 15 up by the pools. We made our way up there. Because we've had so much fancy food lately I decided we needed something more basic. The salty dog had hamburgers, hot dogs, etcetera. I decided not getting hot dogs. They had a Reuben dog which was coleslaw and 1000 island dressing. They also had a chili dog. I got one of each with French fries. These hot dogs are nothing like the hot dogs we get in Chicago or even Wildwood. That's OK. I understand. They were OK. I did not end up eating the buns so it was basically the hot dogs and the fixings. I did not eat all the French fries although they were pretty good. Mary had a hamburger and fries. You said they were pretty good. It was good to just have normal food for change. I'm not sure I will do the hot dogs in the future, but I had to try them. On the outdoor screen was a concert by the band Queen. It was post Freddie Mercury. It was pretty good nonetheless.
We worked our way down to the casino. They had lessons on some of the table games that we were not familiar with. We went to a card game called three prime or something like that. It is difficult to even explain it. It was very complex. Even after playing with play money for nearly an hour, I’m still not exactly sure I understood at all. To help explain how complex it is, there were eight different bets. The minimum you could spend was $26 a hand. You played against your own 3 cards, your 3 cards and the dealers 3 cards and your 3 cards and two community cards versus the dealer. If your head doesn't hurt already, it should. I won when I didn't think I did. And I lost when I thought I won. We will not be spending real money on that. After that hour tutorial, they had a slot tournament. We went through the opening round, and I did poorly. Mary had to potentially make it to the finals phase. She had to go back downstairs at 9:15 to see if she made it or not. When she did go back down, she learned that she did not have enough points. It was a free tournament, so it didn't cost us anything to try.
It was a quiet day, but busy nonetheless. We were in bed and asleep by 10:00.
