Day 11 - Wednesday, January 15, 2025 – At Sea
We woke up to a boat that was rocking pretty hard. Mary managed to get me in the shower chair. In the actual shower the boat rocked and the shower chair made an exit from the shower stall. It was the rockiest day we've had so far. Although by noon it had mellowed out. The captain comes on at 9:00 every morning discusses the day ahead. He said that it would be calmer by noon, and he was right. Mary went to 14 for breakfast. I had a cup of coffee. We were going to have a big lunch, so I did not want a big breakfast.
When we were at the last wine tasting, we signed up for two other wine tastings. The one was this afternoon. It was called the Super Tuscan Lunch. I took a picture of the wine and food pairings. I will post that. It will give you an idea of what Mary and I ate and drank for the next hour. Yes, Mary ate and drank almost everything - actually she tried everything. She is getting adventurous too. These wines were a couple of notches above the ones we had the other day. For example, the last red we had cost $195 a bottle. Obviously, we're not going to buy that. It is good to taste the higher end stuff though. The food that we ate with each course was more complex and all very good. Unfortunately for Mary, it had a heavy seafood base. I ate what she didn't. Mary actually tried the salmon, but didn't like it.
She had an acupuncture appointment at 1:00. I went to seven and pushed. Mary came back down to seven and walked for a little while. We came back upstairs at about 4:00. I continued to work on pictures and the log. Mary was watching one of her TV shows she likes. I think we both took little naps.
At 7, we went to 14 for a little something I had minestrone. Mary had salad. We talked a bit before coming back. I helped get Mary’s Bose ear phones connected to her laptop. It took 20 minutes, but we got it. It was time for zzzzz…..
