Day 14 – Saturday, January 18, 2025 – At Sea
This was our first real down day. We got up and went to breakfast a little late. We had our typical breakfast. It was only about 60° and really windy out so I could not go pushing. It was even cool on the ship. Inside. We decided to come up to the room after breakfast. For the next several hours I worked on the website. As you can see, I've added some pictures and added a few more days. I'm almost caught up. I'm getting there. I hope you like the pictures. I have one more thing I need to do and that is add a couple time lapse videos to primarily Panama Canal. If I can get them to go, they're really cool. Mary had a facial appointment in the early afternoon, so she did not get back until about 4:30.
It was a formal night so when she got back, Mary got her hair done, put on some makeup - I called her war paint. She put on a green dress that she had worn at a wedding several years ago. She told me this, there's no way I would remember that. After she was done, she put a black shirt on me and the tie. Yes, we were able to close the neck button. I had a red and black tie on.
On our way to the dining room, we ran into I think it was 4 picture taking spots. At each stop we get about four or five pictures taken. I did some rough calculations last night and if we stay on pace, we will have somewhere near 650 pictures of just Mary and me. What in the world we're going to do is 650 pictures is beyond me. Thankfully, they are digital. We do get to pick three of them and they will 8 x 10s of them. Maybe we will get pictures for all of them and paper a wall in the garage or something.
We made it to the dining room at about 7:30. It was really cold in there. I've come to the conclusion I'm a wimp. I had a glass of Cabernet. For my appetizer I had escargot. I also had a wedge salad. For my main meal I had steak and lobster. There was a little tenderloin which was pretty good. The lobster tail was decent size. I was not that hungry, so it worked out well. Mary had French onion soup, salad and the pasta dish for her main meal. For dessert I had crepes suzette again. Mary had some fruit dish. It was a nice dinner.
When we got out of there it was already 9:30. We walked by the casino and saw that there was Texas holdem game, but there were no seats open at the table. Back in the room, I started this Sunday puzzle. I watched the end of the Lions game. It's a shame, the Lions just cannot turn the corner. Maybe next year, although they've been saying that for 50 plus years.
It was a nice day.
