Day 103 - Friday, April 18th, 2025 – At Sea
This was the first day at sea we've had in a while. We took advantage of it and slept in. We also did not do a whole lot today. The majority of the day was spent getting in line to play cards, then waiting the hour to play cards and then actually playing cards down in the casino. Each tournament only has 10 openings. There are more than 10 players who want to play. For example, for the 11:00 tournament, you need to be at the casino at about 9:30 to get in line. The sign up sheet goes live at 10:00. You have to be one of the first ten to sign up. Then, you go away for an hour, and you actually play cards at 11. Assuming you do well at the table, this could add two to three more hours to the cycle. We both did the 11:00 and 2:00 tournament, so we probably spend 5 to 6 hours just playing cards today. I did not put it in my notes, but I remember I got second place at least once. I remember being the bubble at least once. I don't remember where Mary placed. Anyway, it's something we like doing. We are on vacation. We are supposed to do what we want to do. After the card games were over, we went back to the room and rested before dinner.
At dinner I had the spanakopita appetizer - Greek spinach pie. For the pasta course I had spaghetti and meatballs. This is the one with the big meatball. It is very good. (I just had a thought - I wonder if when we get back to 12504 SE 93rd Court Road if it will have a pass the course. Hmmm… you think?) And my entree I had corvina, which is a denser and meatier white fish. I liked it. I had cherries jubilee for dessert. It was all good. Mary had cold soup of some sort - Keeping the new tradition alive. The chef was walking through the dining room and happened to stop at our table. Mary and he had an extensive discussion on cold soups. He's supposed to be sending over some of his favorite recipes. I will get to be the Guinea pig at home. I'm not sure that will be a bad thing, but there might be a lot of trial and error. Staying constant, she had the salad times two. She managed to find the chicken item on the menu which happened to be chicken Kiev. She enjoyed her meal also. She probably had sorbet of some sort for dessert, but I didn't write it down.
You don't remember anything specific about the evening. We probably just came back up after the jewelry store raffle and lottery ticket renewal. I know I attempted to work on the log, but whether I did or not is a mystery. Actually, knowing how far I am behind I'm pretty sure I can say I did not work on the log. I'm doing my best to catch up.
Another successful day.
