Day 83 - Saturday, March 29th, 2025 – At Sea
For the most part, this was a typical at sea day. We went to breakfast on seven. Thankfully, it was not a meat locker for a change. We had a nice breakfast. Mary had an 11:00 acupuncture meeting. I stayed in the room. Honestly, I think I slept for the one hour where she was gone. I was still playing catch up. We decided to play cards at 2:00. We went downstairs about 12:30. It had to happen, Mary and I came in first and second. Actually, Mary came in first and I came in second. This was a cool $425 for us. It was a great game for us. At $60.00 a tournament, that is 7 tournaments that we don't have to pay for. There's only one more at sea day before Rome. So that means there are only two more tournaments until then. Several of the poker players that we are playing with right now are leaving in Rome. We will have to see how many games they have after Rome. Hopefully there will be enough players to keep it going.
While we were in the casino, one of the other poker players, Alan, turned us on to lotto that is played once or twice a day. It's like Lotto that you think of. You pick 5 numbers and they have a machine that pulls 5 numbers at 4:00 and 11:00. If you happen to get all 5 numbers the pot is like $500,000. If I remember correctly, if you get four numbers it's $2000. So now we are playing that. What the hell, it's $10.00 for a chance at $2000 – not a bad deal.
After we played cards, we came back upstairs. We stayed there until we decided to go to dinner. I stayed in my sweatshirt because I did not want to get cold. It's a nice looking sweatshirt so it was not too informal. We did stop at one picture place. And then we went to dinner. We took a bottle of white wine that we bought.
I had the Alaskan fish Stew for my appetizer. It was very good. I had salad. For my entree I had sole fillets. This is basically sole fish that was breaded. It was pretty good because the breading was light. Mary had salad and coconut soup. She is still on her cold soup kick. She liked it. For an entree she had a chicken dish which she liked. She commented that the spices were just great. For dessert, Mary brought along the pistachio layer cake that she bought in Siracusa the previous day. It was very good. As always, it was a very nice dinner. We made our way back to the cabin and we hung out there for an hour before going to bed. Another successful day.
