Day 67 - Thursday, March 13th, 2025 – Day at Sea
This will be a brief entry. Why? Because it is four days ago, and I don't remember the details. I did put notes down, but my notes don't have enough detail. Sorry, I will try to do better.
I know that I skipped breakfast. Mary went down to seven. She's been talking with one of the ladies down there. There are two couples at breakfast. I’ve mentioned the professor from Stanford previously. His wife's name is Lourdes. This is their 4th or 5th world cruise. The other people's name is John and we can't figure out the other lady's name. We know she likes to play bridge. Obviously, that does not help much. I get it. I know. Anyway, this is their 17th cruise. When I don't go to breakfast Mary sits with these couples and gets the latest and greatest information on the ship. They're kind of like the analog Facebook. You know in the old days when people talked to each other face to face? So, when she comes back from breakfast, I get the latest. I really don't care. But, because I'm going for husband of the year I pay attention in case there are questions later.
Because it's the middle of the month, I paid bills. I did not have any issues last month, but for whatever reason I cannot pay the gas bill. I'm going to have to wait till we get into a port somewhere and call them. The website just dies. I have tried tried multiple machines and multiple browsers with no luck.
I know we played cards. I don't remember where we finished. I do know that I have two third places, 2 second places and two first places. That's six tournaments in the money. Mary has one tournament in the money. We're starting to get to know several of the players pretty well. They play like some of the players at Del Webb. I'm just happy we're able to play.
I know I went out pushing. The sea has been very calm. The temperatures were very nice. This makes pushing easy and enjoyable.
We went to dinner. I thought I took pictures of the menu. I can't find them now. Let's assume it was a good dinner.
We went to the show that night. It was a juggler. Actually, it was more of a comedian who juggled. This may sound nasty, but I was not impressed. Some of his juggling was challenging but I didn't think it was world class for lack of a better term. This is the case where maybe I’m expecting too much. I think part of the problem is that with these older hearing aids I don't hear as well. If I still had the newer hearing aids I might hear the performers better. Mary took a short video. If I can find it I will upload it. Anyway, after the show we came home. Kind of a boring day.
