Day 68 - Friday, March 14th, 2025 – Day at Sea
This is going to be another brief entry. My notes are also poor for this day. I know we went to breakfast. I know I went pushing. While l pushed, Mary went to the jewelry store. She had her eyes on these green earrings. There is a special gem - Chrome Diopside. She decided she wanted them, so she bought them. I have to say they do look pretty. Maybe I'll get a picture of them for this log.
Even though Mary's retired, she wants to keep her licenses active. In order to do that she has to do training. She's working to get her licenses updated right now. So she's spending time reading and taking tests. She wants to get them all completed before we get into port this coming Thursday. Based on her progress, she should be done in the next day or so. I've been spending time in front of the computer and or out on the balcony being unproductive while she is being productive.
We went to dinner that night. Because I kept pretty good notes here, I know that Mary had caprese. I know that she had her double salad. I know she had Rigatoni with sausage pasta. For dessert she had sorbet, I think it was grapefruit. I guess my notes weren't that good. I had fried calamari. I had a small portion of the Rigatoni and sausage. I had flounder for my entree. For dessert I had a chocolate mocha tart. Of course it was all good. I'm trying to remember anything specific about the evening that made it interesting. but I can't think of anything.
We decided to go to the show. It said vocalist but it ended up being a pretty good guitar and piano player. I've attached a video. It was probably the best song he did. Tony Bayliss is his name. He also did a Queen tune – Somebody to Love Me. Both Queen singers sang that song too. I didn’t realize it was that popular. It was a good show.
If you look at the schedule you realize that we are in a quiet period. We have these seven days at sea. Then we have a port. Then we have a couple more days at sea before it starts to get crazy. We have 25 ports to go to yet. We're going to need these quiet days to rest before the rubber meets the road. I’m trying to figure out how I'm going to stay up to speed on these log entries. While I'm thinking of it, you should probably get your rest too. Remember you're traveling with us. You're going to need your rest to keep up. Trust me. I know these things.
