Day 3 - Tuesday, January 7, 2025
We slept pretty well. The ship was rocking, but we are used to it. Our intent was to get to the poker tournament at 10:00 in the morning. We were up and out the door by 9:00 AM. We headed to sabatini's for breakfast. Mary had her omelet and tea. I had BB8, cranberry juice and coffee to start. And then had hot oatmeal which was pretty good. And then I had my toasted bagel and salmon meal I had the previous day. The food was good. If I was to be super super picky, the oatmeal was too runny, but that might be my preference versus what the world thinks.
After breakfast, we headed to the casino on the 5th deck. When we got there, the guy that was sitting there said you need to register at 9:00. The current tournament had all of its seats filled. Lesson learned. We headed back upstairs. Mary had an appointment at 1:30, so we sat around the room doing this and that.
A little after 1:00, I went down to the 7th floor. For the next two hours, while Mary got pedicure and manicure, I pushed. I don't want to overdo it so I only pushed what would be two times round. That works out to be a little more than 3000 pushes. Mary came back from her pedicure and manicure around 3:30. She had a 4:00 appointment with the acupuncture person. I came back upstairs and started to work on this log after I finished the puzzles. It was our first formal night. Mary had me in black jeans. She put on one of my new shirts but the neck wouldn't close. Must have gained some weight. I'll have to work on that. It was not as formal as some of the people, but I was more formal than a lot of them. Mary looked very nice in her white dress. We decided to go back down to the Bordeaux room. We got seated in the special section again. Neither of us like this completely because we don't get to talk to anyone. We've decided that every other day or so we will go through the line to sit with people. I was also thinking that maybe we could talk to the restaurant manager to figure out something. We still have 100 plus days to figure it out.
I had a glass of Cabernet that was pretty good. I’ll have to remember the name of it. I had a crab cake that was very good. I then had Caesar salad to add ruffage to my diet. For my main meal I had red snapper Caribbean style. It was very good although I'm not sure how you mix mangoes, black beans and green pepper. Whatever, it worked. For dessert I had crepes suzette. I'm not exactly sure what this is, but it was good. I know what crepes are I just don't know what the suzette part is. Mary had her salad, a chicken breast dinner, some fruit and the chocolate cake of some sort. It was a very nice dinner. After dinner, we hit the picture stations. I don't remember the exact count but it was 5 or 6 stations. I can only imagine we have about 30 pictures of us so far and it's only day 4. We were in bed by 10:00.
I don't think either of us is sleeping very well just yet. I think my sleeping is screwed up because I nap too much in the afternoon. I'm gonna work on that too.
